The 5 Scariest Horror Movies for your Halloween Season

The 5 Scariest Horror Movies for your Halloween Season

Halloween season is among us costumes, candy, and screamsssss! I’m really not one for horror movies because I am wayyyy too dramatic, but October is the perfect time of year to indulge in some of the scariest horror movies of all time. With that in mind, I put together a list of the 5 scariest horror movies of all times that are guaranteed to either have you running for the hills or hiding under your bed.

The Orphanage (2007)

A lady buys a building in order to create a home for sick children. The gag is… the building used to be an old orphanage!!! Shortly after her son goes missing, she’s starts hearing voices and seeing spirits. Honeyyyyy this is going to make you LEAP out your seat! After this film, I don’t think anything is scarier than creepy children . Hide ya wife – hide ya kids- HIDE YOURSELF.

The Blair Witch Project (1999)

This horror movie proves that imagination is scarier than anything that can be put on screen! It’s about 3 student filmmakers who are investigating the local legend of The Blair Witch. Craziest part- they are investigating in the woods. No mam no ham! As expected, the 3 never return but their video footage surfaces later on and what can be found on that footage….. is enough cancel hiking off your list of activities all together!

The Exorcist (1973)

1973?! Yes, 1973. Although this horror movie was made so long ago, the sheer plot is enough to be scary even today because it plays on true events. Basically, this movie details the demonic possession of a 12-year-old girl as her mother tries to help her by enlisting the help of two priests. After y’all see what kind of crazy things this girl does, you’re going to be calling for a 3rd priest!

The Conjuring

This horror movie was absolutely terrifying! The Conjuring tells the story of two paranormal investigators who were called upon to help family terrorized by a dark, unknown being. I recommend watching this during the day, blinds open, AND turn your lights on.

Insidious (2010)

Sista girl it took me weeeeeks to build up to see this movie. I should have kept building because I was traumatized to say the least. This film is about a boy who fell into a coma after an incident in the attic. The gag is … once he goes into this state, he becomes a vessel for ghosts! What in the Halloween horror!? I know right. There are at least 15 scenes in this horror movie where you are going to jump 10 feet in the air.

Have you seen any of these horror movies or do you know any scarier ones? Let me know in the comment section below so I can check them out!

OOH great picks. For me anything supernatural is always scary but IT is the scariest if the scary because I am terrified of clowns.

The Blair Witch Project was probably the scariest one for me as a teen because they promoted it as being a true story! It still scares me to this day!

RIGHT?! It’s something about a movie being based on a true story that makes it 100 times scarier
